Lemons
You know the saying, "When life gives you Lemons, make Lemonade". Well I think I have some lemons. See tommorow I go into surgery. I debated writing about because I don't want to sound lame and I have been pretty much been acting like it is not happening. But it is...for some reason my body dosen't heal after Childbirth, go figure. So I had a surgery after Bella and was hoping and praying I wouldn't have to do it after Sophie. Argh, I found out a month or so ago that I have to. I am pretty mad about about it but whatevea... So my mom out to help with the kids while I do this stupid surgery that takes another 6 weeks to heal(like I just had a baby again)! So my question is how do I make Lemonade with these Lemons????

ohhhh steph! i'm sooo sorry that sucks, but you'll see some lemondade out of this right? i always think of your story about how crappy recovery was after bella and no fun that you have to have another surgery! but hey at least you guys make super cute babies right! good luck w/ recovery and have fun w/ your cute mom in town! i'll be thinking of you!
I think the Lemonade is those beautiful girls that you have:) Some people throw up throughout their whole pregnancy, some have over 15 hours of labor - and then a C-section, some have babies with colic, or heaven forbid something worse -- it is what we do as mother's; we sacrifice for those sweet smiles, the happy laughs, and gentle hugs. It doesn't get any better. And the more you seem to sacrifice the more you seem to appreciate what blessings they are -- very tasty lemonade:) It doesn't change the fact that it sucks, and is lemony:( Enjoy being pampered by your mom, and heal fast so you can enjoy certain marriage rights again:) Love ya, we'll keep you in our thoughts, Lins.
Don't I wish I could zip over to your house and help out a little during your recovery! I'm so glad you survived the ordeal. NOT SO FUN FOR YOU! Let' focus on a possibility of a post-Christmas party in UT and maybe a little beach trip to FL in the spring? It is what motivates me to drag myself to the gym every morning...I can't look like the Big Sister next to you the Supermodel Sister!
I love you-kiss the girls for me!
Oh man Steph, I'm so sorry. That is no fun to go through that healing once, let alone twice, or will this now be the fourth time?? Our prayers are with you!
nothin' a little dew can't fix...its yellow like lemonade right? :) just come over already--
YES!
Take what the Lord gives and "drink it up!!" :-D
I will be thinking about you! good luck!
Hi, I found you via Trish Berg's blog, when you commented on her post about my book Baby Changes Everything.
So sorry to hear you had to have surgery.
I empathize--I dealt with the same not-so-fun reality after my "caboose baby" was born.
So, in an effort to cheer you up . . . send me your "snail mail" address and I'll send you a copy of my book, if you're interested!
I heartily agree with the other comments. The enormous sacrifices you make for your kids and the difficulties that seem at times ridiculous (and believe me, yours definitely falls into this category) are more than counter-balanced by the joy you feel when you encounter all that other good stuff that comes along with being a mommy. The tricky part--it doesn't all come at the same time in a perfectly even fashion so you have to hold fast to that slippery thing called perspective in the midst of the yuckies and just make sure you don't take for granted the times when you are drinking a large, ice cold glass of sweet, sweet lemonade!
Thanks everybody for your kind words! Things are getting better so "Cheers"( i am holding up my imaginary glass of lemonade)! Sorry about my pity party post...being a mother is worth all the pain and sacrifice we ALL go through! Love you all!
you definitely earned yourself a little pity party.....by the way, when I wrote "ridiculous", I meant ridiculously hard. Your "little" surgeries definitely fall into the category of things one shouldn't have to go through, if you ask me. so, I hope you know that no one thinks any less of you for grasping at some sort of way to look on the bright side. Personally, I rarely have perspective in the midst of the hard times, but get loads of it after the fact. You'd think I would learn my lesson.....
hey stephanie, i hope all went well. your lemonade, your girls... its all worth it right?
they are beautiful, happy little girls...
